Taurian World School adjudged the Best Boarding School in Jharkhand

TWS Ties Up With Trinity College, London for evaluating students’ communication skills

Oct 15, 2012: Taurian World School (TWS), which is among India’s top 30 boarding schools, has just added two new jewels in its coveted crown. The School has been conferred the Best Boarding School award in Jharkhand for the second consecutive year and has also entered into a tie-up with globally revered Trinity College, London for evaluating students’ communication skills and on how it can be improved.
The School provides two sorts of boarding facilities – week boarding and term boarding – and offers accommodation to students between Classes 1 and 12 in a secure, caring environment. It also provides them tremendous opportunities to acquire various skills, excite their minds, shape characters and mould talents without any extraneous distractions. All classes are equipped with smart-class interactive boards and a fibre-optic internet cable computer network connects the classrooms with laboratories, library and hostel on the campus. The School is equipped with English Language Lab, Mathematics Lab, Modern Multi-media Room, Science Labs, Fashion Designing Lab, Dedicated Music Room, Exploration Room, Art Gallery, Amphitheatre among others, The students also enjoy a well-rounded programme of extra-curricular activities that includes horse riding, lawn tennis, swimming, squash, cricket, soccer, aerobics, yoga and meditation, pool and billiards, table tennis, hockey etc.

The full time male and female wardens for the respective hostels along with housemasters try and ensure that for all boarders, Taurian World School remains a home, away from home. To facilitate all boarders in having a seamless communication with their parents, the School has set up facilities like dedicated parents communication phone lines, skype video chat (between students and parents) e-mails (students send regular mails to their parents), observing  Parents’ Day (last Sunday of every month) among others.

True to its tradition of being unique in approach, Taurian World School has also become the first school in Jharkhand to adopt the techniques of Trinity College in evaluating the communication skills of students. The test was conducted by Mr Philip Thrupp and all the 27 students who undertook the test came out with flying colours with nearly 50% of them scoring more than 85% marks. In a communication Trinity College said “The children have all performed amazingly well….For a first appearance in the Trinity Examination the performance of all candidates have been remarkable”. Trinity also praised the teachers of Taurian world School for “an excellent job in preparing the students so well”.

Commenting on the occasion, the founder-chairman of Taurian World School, Mr Amith Bajla, said “I feel elated by these developments. It vindicates our efforts and commitments in graduating Taurian World School to a school of excellence attaining international standards. I thank all our teachers and staff to help evolve the School as a seat of learning, standing tall over our peers. It re-invigorates our mind to march ahead.
