VR SURAT HOSTS ITS BIGGEST "FLASH MOB" IN ASSOCIATION WITH CA STUDENTS FOR A BETTER INDIA INITIATIVE

350 VOLUNTEERs participate IN INITIATIVE FOR A BETTER INDIA

August 16, 2013 – On the occasion of the 67th Independence Day Celebrations, the city witnessed the biggest “Flash Mob” performed by over 350 volunteers of different age groups at VR Surat, South Gujarat’s only world-class lifestyle destination on Dumas Road.


The Flash Mob was organized by students and young professionals who gathered at The Runway in VR Surat to support Art of Living’s Gyan Setu Initiative - ‘Volunteer for a Better India’. The participants used the platform to highlight the cause of underprivileged children in and around Surat. Rajat Podar, who along with Shristi Barmecha, led the team of students in organizing the mega event said, “Independence Day 2013 was a very special day for us as we celebrated it at VR Surat to create awareness about our initiative. VR Surat proved to be perfect platform to mobilize support for the Gyan Setu Project. We chose VR Surat because of its world class infrastructure and unique concept of connecting communities with entertainment, art, fashion, fun and shopping.”

Gyan Setu aims to bridge the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged and promote education for all. VR Surat hosted the Flash Mob event as part of its ‘Connecting Communities’ endeavor. VR Surat recorded over 20,000 visitors on August 15 giving Gyan Setu a unique platform to promote its cause.
