Transworld Group's Empowering Initiative for transgender community: Celebrating Humanity with Pride

In a meaningful stride towards fostering an all-encompassing environment, Transworld Group, a leading player in the realm of Global Shipping & Logistics Solutions, recently orchestrated a significant employee engagement session in collaboration with the Aarju Foundation, focusing on the transgender community. Commencing with a sensitization session that heightened understanding and empathy, the engagement unfolded with heartening interactions among community members. Deliberations ranged from addressing challenges and sharing birthday aspirations to engaging in spirited indoor games.

“We at Transworld Group believe that it is human beings who matter – not their external characteristics or gender or personal beliefs.  Our working atmosphere is reflective of a bias-free, inclusive environment that we build internally within our teams. Our community welfare projects are inspired by our ‘Higher Purpose’ of ‘Delivering Prosperity to Humanity’ and led entirely by our volunteers who understand and are actively engaged with the real-world needs of different marginalized segments of the community. This sensitization project will only further re-emphasise and empower our employees to look at the community with respect and dignity,” said K.B. Balmurali, Chief Operating Officer.

In a proactive endeavor to empower the transgender community, Transworld Group had forged a meaningful partnership with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. This collaboration was geared towards providing skill enhancement and vocational training, specifically through tailoring and beautician courses.

During a comprehensive 5-month training program held under the auspices of the Sankalp-AVSAR project, a transformative initiative supported by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Transworld Group exhibited its commitment by extending stipends to 60 dedicated transgender community members. It's worth noting that Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham played a crucial role as an implementing partner in this noble undertaking. This effort embodies Transworld Group's enduring dedication to fostering inclusivity and amplifying opportunities for marginalized segments of society
