Coming on the heels of the International Women’s Day, the C N Wadia Race Day will also be a day of high voltage glamour thanks to Mrs. Maureen Wadia, who is also dedicating the day to married women, families and children. The original style icon, who has launched a thousand glamorous faces including Aishwarya Rai, John Abraham, Lisa Ray and Dino Morea amongst others, is hosting the one-of-its-kind Gladrags Mrs. India Mumbai pageant at the Mahalaxmi Race Course. Married women from across Maharashtra will be competing for the Mrs. India Mumbai pageant title.

With the Mahalaxmi race course throwing open its gates to the little ones, tiny tots will be vying for top honours at the Gladrags Little Miss and Master India, which is a gift to children of all ages.  There will be a fancy dress round and a pageant round out of which the winners of the Gladrags Little Miss and Master India will be selected from two age groups – juniors and seniors. There are many lucky prizes to be won including free tickets on GoAir, Bombay Dyeing and Britannia and a free week’s stay in the Philippines for a couple.

The C N Wadia Gold Cup Race commemorates one of the city’s greatest philanthropists Sir Cusrow Wadia, who originally donated the 225 acres of land in Mahalaxmi facing the sea to the Royal Western India Turf Club Limited (RWITC), one of the oldest and most well-known horseracing Clubs in the country.  In fact, Sir Wadia not only gave the RWITC an interest-free loan to build Mumbai’s only race course but he also took architects to Melbourse to study and replicate the Melbourne Race Course in Mumbai.

So make a date on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the C N Wadia Race and watch the Gladrags Little Miss and Master India Mumbai pageant and the Gladrags Mrs India Mumbai pageant in the Padlock from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Mahalaxmi Race Course.
